Forecast Shift

It now appears that a coastal storm will come closer to the area on Thursday. That will likely lead to rain on Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. And there could be some wind involved as well. However, the strongest winds should remain offshore. Behind the system it will clear out for Friday and the upcoming weekend.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Clear with a low of 50 in Boston and 45 in the suburbs.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. High 65. NE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday night: Cloudy with lows in the lower 50's.

Thursday: Scattered showers in the morning, then showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60's. NE wind of 15-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH late .

Thursday night: Showers likely. Lows around 60. NE wind continues.

Friday: Any rain clears, then becoming sunny. Highs in the mid 60's .

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the 70's.

Sunday: Sunny with highs in the 70's.
