A major cold front will cross the area Tuesday night leading to a dramatic drop in the temps. First, Tuesday will be wet and windy but the heaviest rain will wait until late in the day. Then, downpours will come into the area. But, as cold air comes in behind the front temps will drop dramatically into the 30's. And rain could change to snow before ending Wednesday morning.
Boston forecast:
Tonight: Mostly cloudy and windy. Low 58. South wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.
Tuesday: Cloudy with scattered showers. Windy with a high of 67. South wind increasing to 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH.
Tuesday night: Showers with downpours until 5 AM, then rain showers possibly mixed with wet snow! Temps fall into the low 30's. South wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH in the evening, then changing to NW at 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH late.
Wednesday: Rain showers possibly mixed with wet snow until 8 AM, then clearing. Still windy with highs in the mid 40's. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.
Wednesday night: Clear with record cold possible! Lows around 30.
Thursday: Sunny with highs in the upper 40's.
Friday: Partly sunny with highs around 50.
