Much Cooler

Wednesday will be much cooler and cloudier than today with temps holding in the 50's to near 60. Thursday will be even cooler with more scattered showers. Then a powerful storm will hit the area on Friday. And, with even colder air in place some sleet or snow is possible-even in Boston. Skies should clear for the weekend.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Increasing clouds this evening, then showers with scattered thunderstorms. Low 48.

Wednesday: Scattered showers until 8 AM, then mostly cloudy. High 58. East wind of 10-15 MPH.

Wednesday night: Rain showers. Lows in the mid 40's.

Thursday: Low clouds and fog with scattered showers, mist and drizzle. Near steady temps in the mid 40's.

Thursday night: Scattered rain showers in the evening, then rain possibly mixed with snow and sleet late. Lows in the mid 30's .

Friday: Rain may mix with snow and sleet in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 30's. Stay tuned!

Saturday: Clearing and nicer. Highs near 60.

Sunday: Sunny with highs in the 50's.
