Snow!

Snow has been falling in the Boston area this evening-with some reports of up to 5 inches west of  Boston. In Boston an earlier mix of rain and snow has changed over to snow over the last few hours. Snow may amount to an inch or so in Boston, but more not too far to the west. The precip will be off and on thru the night and most of the day tomorrow.

Alerts:
A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Cape and islands.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for metro Boston.

A Winter Weather Weather Advisory is in effect west of Boston  3-6 inches are possible there .

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Periods of snow, sleet and rain. Near steady temps around freezing. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Total snow of a coating to 2 inches in Boston with more to the west.

Thursday: Any snow showers should change to rain showers. High 42. NE wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

Thursday night: Clearing with lows in the low 30's.

Friday: Partly sunny with highs in the low 50's.

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the mid 50's.

Sunday: Sunny with highs around 60.

Vetrans Day: Sunny with highs in the 60's.
