Even Colder

Thursday will be another mild day with clearing and temps soaring into the 50's again. Then a powerful storm will ride up the coast for Friday. It now appears that there could be enough cold air for a brief burst of winter precip before a switch to rain. Up here in Plymouth, NH several inches are likely.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy this evening, then scattered rain showers after midnight. Low 42.

Thursday: Cloudy with scattered rain showers in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. High 52. SW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

Thursday night: Cloudy in the evening, then a mix of rain and snow after midnight. Lows in the mid 30's. Snow may coat the grass NW of Boston.

Friday: Any wintry precip quickly changes to rain. Highs in the upper 30's. SE wind of 15-20 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

Saturday: Clearing and windy. Highs around 40.

Sunday: Sunny with highs in the 40's.
