Severe Storms

Severe storms rolled thru Boston earlier this afternoon leading to downed trees and wires in JP. Quarter size hail was reported in the Back Bay area and intense downpours lead to local street flooding. The weekend will be a mainly dry- but hot and humid as the cool font will wait till Sunday night to come thru.

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Partly cloudy and humid. Low 70.

Saturday: Hazy, hot and humid with a small risk of thunderstorm after 3 PM. High 89. SW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Saturday night: Partly cloudy and humid. Lows in the upper 60's.

Sunday: We head to the Cape for vacation. Hazy and humid again. Highs in the upper 80's with a SW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Sunday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows around 70. SE wind of 15-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. Some thunderstorms will be severe.

Monday: Clearing with highs around 80.

Tropics: TS Harvey has winds of 50 MPH and is expected to make landfall in Belize Tomorrow. Irene is expected to form in the Central Atlantic over the next couple of days and it may threaten the US coast next week. Stay tuned!
