Back to Winter

An area of low pressure will approach the region tonight and light rain showers will arrive around dawn. Showers will continue through Friday, mostly light around midnight the steady rain arrives, and the precip continues through Saturday evening. It is a tough call for the Red Sox game that I have tickets for. As of now I expect temps to be around 40 with showers and a stiff east wind at 7 PM on Friday.

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Increasing clouds with showers by 5 Am. Some wet snowflakes may mix in around Worcester. Low 37.

Friday: Light rain showers. Some wet snowflakes may mix in early around Worcester. Cold and windy with a high of 42. East wind 15-25 MPH.

Friday night: Showers until 11 PM, then rain. Some wet snowflakes may mix in after midnight. Lows around 38. Cold and wet for the Red Sox game.

Saturday: Rain until 3 PM, then rain, snow and sleet. Temps near 38 in the morning, but falling to 34 by 5 PM. A coating of snow is possible on the grass.

Saturday night: Rain, snow and until 9 PM, then snow showers after midnight. An additional coating is possible on the grass and cars. Lows around 30.

Sunday: A chance of snow showers in the morning, then mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers in the afternoon. Highs around 50.

Marathon Monday: Mostly cloudy with a tail wind. Highs in the mid 50's.

Snow totals: By Sunday morning

1-3 inches: Worcester points north and west into NH. Main Roads will just be wet, but some slide roads may become slick.

Coating to 1- North and west of 128.

Coating: The immediate Boston area. A coating is possible in JP on the grass and car tops.

Volcano Eruption: The same volcano that erupted in Iceland a couple of weeks ago erupted again. However, this time it was much bigger. It sent ash thousands of feet into the air. 4 flights were canceled from Logan to Europe, and London's airport was shut down. Many other airports in northern Europe were shut down because the ash would damage the plane's engines. Including Ireland, France, Norway and Germany. The wind patterns are expected to remain the same for a while, so the ash will continue for days.
