Storms ahead

We just got back from Stowe, VT this evening where they have a few inches of snow. Except for my mom's injured ankle, we had a great time cross country skiing, swimming, and relaxing. However, much of  NH and VT have no snow at all. That is going to change over the next week. A series of storms will come up the coast and each will bring snow, rain and wind. The first one will approach the area on Tuesday bringing rain and snow late Tuesday into Wednesday. It is still uncertain on the precip type, and if the heaviest snow will make it into New England. Then, the storm will stall and wait for a more powerful storm to kick it out on Thursday. The second storm may be when we pick up our accumulating snow, but the track is still very unclear.  There may be yet another storm next weekend.

Boston, MA forecast:

Tonight: Clear, lows near 32 downtown, 29 in JP and the mid 20's in outside of 128.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, but not as warm as Saturday. High 43. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Sunday night: Clear, lows in the mid to upper 20's.

Monday: Partly cloudy, highs near 40.

Tuesday afternoon thru Friday: A series of storms will likely affect the region with rain, snow and wind.  Temps near freezing during entire period.  Major snow accumulation possible over parts of New England. Stay tuned for details.
