Morning Update- Slight shift

It now appears that the heaviest snow will be from Boston and points south, as the storm has shifted south slightly. To the north of Boston amounts will drop off dramatically. I expect the snow to start between 9 and 930 AM in Boston, and get heavy by early afternoon. Once the snow starts falling the temps will start dropping. However, the city streets may just be wet for a time.

Alerts:

A Winter Storm Warning in effect for all of eastern Mass. except for the north shore.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for north of Worcester and the north shore.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Cape and Islands for gusts to 60 MPH!

A Hurricane Wind Warning is in effect for the open waters as winds will be over 75 MPH!

Timeline: For Today

930 AM: Snowing in Boston.

4 PM- 9PM: The height of the storm. Wind-driven Heavy snow. Except rain on the cape for a time, before ending as snow.

After 9 PM: Snow showers

Amounts: Slightly less in Boston. (Town details in last blog)

10-14: Interior SE mass.

6-10: A line from Boston to Worcester along the pike. Also the South Shore. About 8 inches in JP. Also includes the lower cape.

3-6: Northwest of 128, and the outer cape.

1-3: Southern NH.

Another update this afternoon.
