Storm Update!

The steady rain arrived at around lunch time, as the storm was delayed coming in. The rain has come down at pretty good clip since then along with strong winds. The rain should become briefly heavy, before tapering to showers at around 7 tonight. Claps of thunder and flashes of lightning have been heard around the region, including at my house in JP, and expect that to continue throughout the next couple of hours.

Alerts:

Areal Flood Advisory in effect from Boston to Providence to Worcester points north until 7 tonight. This means minor flooding is probable.

A High Wind Warning in effect for the south shore and the Cape until 8 tonight. Winds could gust past 60 MPH!

A Wind advisory is in effect for the rest of the area until 7 tonight, including Boston. This is for wind gusts over 50 MPH.

Wind gusts:

Blue Hill: 68 MPH
Fall River: 56
Falmouth: 50
Marblehead: 48
Medford: 45
Boston: 45

A forecast for the rest of the week later.
