Snow!

This nor'easter has brought heavy snow to most of the region. As we were driving back to JP from Medford, there was snow on the grass, cars, and even some sidewalks. Snow is expected to accumulate a bit more into the night, with some areas picking up around an inch on grassy surfaces. Worcester county may pick up around 4-5 inches as it is a bit colder there. The heavy precipitation is expected to wind down around midnight. Still, there may be some left over flurries or drizzle in the morning. It started to snow because as the wind shifted to the north temps dropped quickly, and heavy rain turned to heavy snow. The winds have been quite gusty out of the NE/north with gusts up to around 35 MPH here in JP, but up to 54 MPH on Nantucket.

Forecast:

Tonight: Snow from Boston points north and west, and rain south ending by 1 am. Then snow or rain showers continuing. Little wind inland.

Monday: Flurries or sprinkles in the morning, then remaining cloudy. Warmer, high 52. NW wind of 15-20 MPH.
