Snowstorm Monday

Super Bowl Sunday will be quiet with sunny skies and temps in the 20's. Then an area of low pressure will hit the area on Monday leading to more heavy snow. The snow will start before dawn on Monday and last all day and into the evening. Also, the wind will increase during the day leading to blowing and drifting snow.

 A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Boston area for Monday.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for northern New England.

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Clear with decreasing wind. Low 10. NW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH, decreasing to 10-20 MPH late.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and cold. High 27. West wind of 10-20 MPH.

Sunday night: Increasing clouds with snow arriving late. Lows near 15. NE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Monday: Heavy snow. Highs in the upper 20's. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. Total snow amounts of 8-12 inches likely.

Tuesday: Clearing with highs in the upper teens.

Wednesday: Sunny with highs in the 20's.
