Warmer Times

A front will approach the area over the next few days leading to scattered showers and storms in the afternoon. The best chance of storm will be overnight Sunday night. Early next week heat will build into the area along with sunny skies.

Long Weekend Update

Saturday will be warmer along with sunny skies and sea breeze. On Sunday a front will approach the area leading to scattered storms late. On Labor Day showers and storms may continue, and then the heat may build into the area.

Cooler Weather

Hurricane Christobal will create big waves on Thursday as it passes about 300 miles offshore. And, as a front crosses the area tonight it will bring in cooler air for Thursday and Friday. Over the weekend it will start dry but some showers and thunderstorms are possible by Sunday.

Christobal Out To Sea

Hurricane Christobal now has winds of 80 MPH as of late Tuesday. The latest track will send it between Bermuda and the East coast. As it passes the coast it will spread in waves and rip currents to the coast of New England. As for the weather it will be hot and humid on Wednesday along with hazy sunshine. A cold front will cross the area Wednesday night leading to a chance of a thunderstorm. Behind the front NW winds will bring in drier air and cooler temps.

Tonight: Clear with a low of 65.

Wednesday: Hazy, hot and humid. High 90. SW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy with a passing thunderstorm. Lows in the upper 60's.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and less humid. Breezy with highs in the upper 70's. NW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

Becoming Hot

High pressure on the east coast will lead to building heat and humidity over the next few days. The hottest day will be Wednesday as temps could touch 90. Then a front will come through late on Wednesday and that will help push Hurricane Christobal out to sea.

Tonight: Clear with a low of 65.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and warm. Highs near 82 at the beaches, 85 in JP and 90 inland. SE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Tuesday night: Clear with lows in the upper 60's.

Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny with a chance of a thunderstorm. Humid with highs around 90.

Thursday: Sunny and cooler. Highs in the upper 70's.

Friday: Partly sunny with highs in the 70's.

Tropics: Hurricane Christobal now has winds of 75 as it heads NE over the next few days. The center will travel well east of the US, but will graze Bermuda with some strong wind gusts.

The Week Ahead

High pressure centered on the east coast will lead to a warming trend this week. Monday will be in the low 80's along with sunny skies. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the warmest days of the week as temps may close in on 90. A front coming through by the end of the week should push TS Cristobal  out to sea. But, stay tuned for any track changes.

Monday: Mostly sunny and nice. High 83. SW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Monday night: Clear with lows in the low 60's .

Tuesday: Sunny and warmer. Highs in the upper 80's.

Thursday: Some rain possible. Also watching Cristobal. Highs in the 80's.

Friday: Sunny with highs in the 80's.

Tropics: TS Cristobal will head north and the NE in the next few days. As the latest track has it between Bermuda and the US East coast. However, stay tuned for any changes in the track.

US Weather: 13 inches of rain fell today on Long Island smashing records. As, the heavy rains caused major urban flooding in the area.

Storm Update

A powerful system will effect the area with heavy rains and some severe weather. The rain will arrive in the morning and last well into the afternoon. As a warm front crosses in the afternoon there is the possibility of heavy downpours along with damaging winds and thunder. And, there is a slim chance of an isolated tornado. Also, gusty SE winds will lead to minor splash over at high tide.

Storm Wednesday

Clouds will increase on Tuesday ahead of our next storm system. The rain will arrive in the morning, then as a warm front crosses the area and there will be a potential of severe weather in the afternoon. We may get a few inches of rain which could cause flooding. And, there will be a threat of damaging wind gusts and even a small chance of a brief tornado.

Tuesday will be warmer and more humid with a small risk of a storm. On Wednesday Hurricane Bertha will pass around 300 miles offshore of the coast. And a cold front will bring a chance of showers and storms in the afternoon. Then clearing will come into the area for the end of the week.

1500TH Post!!!

This is my 1500th post since I started by blog. I plan on writing as much as I can. As for the weather Monday and Tuesday will feature some sun along with a chance for storm in the afternoon. Wednesday will feature a better chance for storms as the cold front comes through. And, as the cold front passes it should send Tropical Storm Bertha out to sea. However, stay tuned for any change in the track.

An area of low pressure will ride up the coast and give us periods of rain on Saturday. On Sunday a front will bring another chance of showers. Showers and storms may still be in the area on Monday before clearing comes back into New England.
