Snow Update

Some snow has started to fall as of 10 PM, but the steady snow will start in the next hour or 2. Snow will accumulate through the morning hours up to several inches.  Snow will eventually change to rain in Boston, but not until late morning. Winds will gust to 40 MPH, but coastal flooding won't be a huge issue.

Alerts: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the Boston area until 11 AM Tuesday

Storm Timeline: For Boston

Tonight: Snow. Temps fall to 27.  NE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Tuesday until 10 AM: Heavy snow. Temps rising to 34. East wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

10AM-3 PM: Periods of rain mixed with snow and sleet. Temps rising to 36. East wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

3 PM-6PM: Rain may change back to snow. Temps fall to 30. North wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH.

Tuesday night: Snow ending by Midnight. Temps near 28. North wind of 10-20 MPH.

Snow Totals:

8-12 Inches: Further NW of Boston

4-8 Inches: Most of the Boston area. About 6 inches in JP

2-4 inches: SE of Boston.
