Again, the heaviest rain will fall to the west of the Boston area as the heavy rain waits until Friday to make it to eastern MA. 3-5 inches of rain are possible in PA and the NYC area, will cause major flooding there. In the Boston area an inch of rain is likely, as the downpours come thru quickly. A few snow showers are possible early Thursday, then as temps rise it will turn to rain showers. It should be a mainly dry weekend with seasonal temps.

Thursday: Scattered light snow showers until 9 AM, then low clouds with scattered showers, drizzle and fog. High 39. East wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.
Thursday night: Scattered rain showers. Near steady temps around 40. SE wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.
Friday: Rain showers in the morning, then downpours in the afternoon. Windy with highs in the mid 50's. SE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Total rainfall amounts around an inch expected.
Friday night: Downpours ending the evening, then partial clearing. Lows in the upper 30's.
Saturday: Partly sunny with highs in the mid 40's.
Sunday: Partly sunny with highs in the low 40's.
US weather: New Jersey has declared a state of emergency ahead of the rain. Major flooding is expcted in Philly, NJ and NY state.
