First Flakes

 An area of low pressure will approach from the west on Wednesday bringing our first flakes of the season. As a mix of rain and snow will fall mainly in the afternoon. No accumulation is expected. Then as skies clear Wednesday night, temps will fall into the 20's across most of the area. A warmup is likely for the end of the week.

World Weather: A powerful storm is expected to hit Western Europe with winds over 100 MPH and flooding rains over the next few days.

 Halloween will be a sunny but chilly day along with light winds. Trick or treaters will expect temps falling through the 40's along with clear skies. After the holiday a storm will bring a mix of rain and snow to the area on Wednesday.

The Week Ahead

 More rain is likely on Monday as another wave of low pressure comes through. Then Halloween looks dry but cold along with light winds. Another storm will then make a close pass on Wednesday and with cold air in place a mix with some wet snowflakes is possible.

 Friday will be another very warm day for this time of year as temps approach 80 degrees. Then the peak of the warmth will arrive on Saturday with temps in the mid 80's. Then a sharp cold front will drop temps dramatically on Sunday along with periods of rain.

Above Average

 The next few days will be great with mainly sunny skies and very warm temps. The heat will peak on Saturday as will challenge the record of 81. Then a strong cold front will cross the region on Sunday bringing rain and cooler temps. Cold air will finally come into New England behind the front.

Warming Up

 Warm air will come into New England over  the next several days. As temps will rise into the mid 70's, which is about 15 degrees above normal. And by Saturday temps are expected to climb to near 80 along with some humidity..

Tropics: Hurricane Otis in the East Pacific has rapidly strengthened today. As winds have increased by 80 MPH in just 12 hours as it now has winds of 145  MPH. That is the fastest a Hurricane has ever intensified in the East Pacific ocean!

 Patchy frost is likely away from the city overnight as skies clear. Then an a great stretch of weather is ahead. As temps continue to rise throughout the week along with sunny skies. Record heat is possible by late in the week and part of the weekend.

Turning Windy

As the rain ends this evening the wind will pick up from the west. And it now appears that most of  Sunday will be dry. And the dry weather will last most of the week along with an eventual warming trend.

Hurricane Tammy: The storm now has winds of 85 MPH near the Virgin Islands. But the future track is very uncertain after a turn north. Stay tuned for further updates!

 A powerful storm will bring rain and wind to the area over the weekend. Rain will arrive by midday on Saturday and will continue heavy at times. Even a thunderstorm is possible. Then as the rain exits the wind will pick up on Sunday.

 The next few days will mostly dry along with temps in the 60's. Then a storm will come up the coast and bring us rain  Friday afternoon through Saturday. And as the storm intensifies to our north on Sunday it will become very windy as the rain tapers off.

Solar Eclipse

 A partial solar eclipse will be visible in the Boston area tomorrow. The peak will between noon and 2 PM with the most coverage at 132 PM. The sun will be covered about 20 to 30 percent. The forecast should provide some clearing on Saturday and  Sunday now looks good as well. Rain is possible early next week.

Storm Out To Sea

It now appears that the storm this weekend will go out to sea. That will leave us with a dry weekend  and temps in the 50's. It will remain cool and mostly dry through early next week.

A Shift South

The next few days will be sunny and temps will be in the 60's. Then a powerful storm will make a close pass this weekend. At this point it seems it may only graze the area, but stay tuned for more updates over the next few days.

 The remains of Philippe will pass to our east on Saturday leading to periods of rain. Skies will clear behind the storm on Sunday, but it will be windy. The holiday will start a stretch of cooler weather.

Tropical Storm Phillippe

 The latest track of the storm has dramatically shifted west for the end of the week and weekend. It may make a very close pass to New England. While a front from the west will try to push it out to sea at the same time. Stay tuned for track updates.
