More Storms Saturday

 A powerful front will bring more severe storms on Saturday afternoon bringing an end to the heat. As much cooler air will come into the area starting on Sunday and lasting into next week.

 A powerful front will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area on Sunday. The storms will bring flooding rains, hail, strong winds and tornadoes. Even powerful tornadoes are a possibility in New England.. The rain should  come to an end by Monday morning.

 After historic flooding in parts of New England we will dry out over the next few days. And the heat will build back into the area as well. More rain is likely by the end of the week and into the weekend.

Historic Flooding Possible

 Historic flooding is now likely in parts of northern and western New England as a stalled front interacts with low pressure. As some areas may receive double digit rain totals over the next 36 hours. In the Boston area heavy rain  is expected, but widespread flooding is not a major concern. Although, the rain should fall heavily on Monday with scattered thunderstorms as well.

Rain Forecast

 A stalled front will lead to widespread showers and storms Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Several inches of rain appear likely and that will lead to flooding. As urban and even local river flooding is expected. And in the mountains of northern and western New England where the  heaviest rain will fall dangerous mudslides are possible. Finally, any storms that come through could bring  strong wind gusts as well.
