Weekend Forecast

 It now appears that a great weekend is in store with sunny skies and warm temps.  Saturday will be a great summer day with sunny skies, low humidity and comfy temps. Clouds will increase on Sunday, but the rain should hold off until after dark.

Saturday; Mostly sunny and nice. High 78. West wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Saturday night ; Clear with lows in the upper 50's. 

Sunday; Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70's. 

Sunday night :Showers. Lows in the low 60's. 

Monday: Becoming mostly sunny. Highs in the low 80's.

More Wild Weather

 Clouds will increase on Thursday ahead of our next storm. The storm will bring showers, thunderstorms and wind to the area Thursday night into Friday. Some storms may be severe and a Tornado cannot be ruled out. It should clear in time for the weekend. 

Boston forecast:

Tonight; Clear with a low of 60. 

Thursday; Increasing clouds until 5 PM, then showers with thunderstorms. High 77. SW wind increasing to 15-25 MPH. 

Thursday night; Showers with scattered severe thunderstorms. Lows in the upper 60's. Some storms may be severe with damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado. SW wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. 

Friday; Any showers end, then becoming mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 70's

Friday night Clearing and chilly for this time of year. Lows in the mid 40's! 

Saturday; Sunny with highs in the mid 70's. 

Sunday; PM rain possible. Highs in the upper 70's. 

US  Weather; The same front that will bring the storms here on Thursday night is expected to produce a severe weather outbreak Wednesday night in parts of Wisconsin and Illinois. Tornadoes and winds over Hurricane force are expected.

Storms Recap

 Severe storms rocked the Boston area on Tuesday night bringing heavy rain, damaging winds and lightning. There was a peak gust of 61 MPH in Boston at around 730 PM. Now, cooler air will come into the area for the next  few days. 

Boston forecast:

Tonight; Scattered showers. Low 65. North wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday; Mostly cloudy in the morning, then a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. High 72. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Wednesday night: Clearing with lows around 60.

Thursday: PM Showers likely. Highs in the upper 70's. 

Friday; Showers ending early. Highs in the low 80's. 

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the upper 70's. 

Sunday: Sunny with highs around 80.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch

 A Severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect until 10 PM tonight for all of the Boston area.  The storms may bring damaging winds and large hail to the area. Please take cover if a storm is headed your way.

 An area of low pressure will bring showers to the area on Sunday. Then Monday and Tuesday  will be warmer and humid before more rain on Wednesday.

Scattered Severe Storms

 A strong cold front will bring scattered severe storms to the area on Wednesday afternoon. Behind the front cooler and direr air will finally come into the region.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a passing shower or thunderstorm. Low 67. 

Wednesday: Hazy until 3 PM, then scattered showers and severe thunderstorms. Humid with a high of 83. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. Storms may bring damaging winds, flooding and hail. 

Wednesday night :Scattered showers and severe storms early, then clearing.  Lows in the upper 50's .

Thursday; Sunny with and less humid. Highs in the upper 70's. 

Friday ;Sunny with highs in the mid 70's.

World Weather;  More deadly flooding is being  reported in parts of Africa and Asia. As in China nearly 2 FEET of rain fell in 1 day.

 Smoke from the western wildfires will make it all the way across the country and add haze to  the sky on Tuesday. However, more showers are likely on Wednesday as another front comes through. And another nice day is likely by Thursday.

 Another wet weekend is in store as a stalled front continues to effect the area. An area of low pressure will ride along the front bringing heavy rain to the area by Saturday evening and will last into Sunday morning, More showers are likely by Sunday afternoon. And rain and wind seems probable on Monday.

 Tropical Storm Elsa will effect the area on Friday. The latest track has it right over the Boston area on Friday afternoon as a Tropical Storm. The storm will bring heavy rain and strong winds to the Boston area. The height of the storm seems to be mid morning into the afternoon.

Hurricane Elsa

 Elsa is once again a Hurricane with winds of 75 MPH near Tampa, FL. It is is still expected to turn North and make landfall in North Florida on Wednesday. Then, it will turn NE and head up the east coast. The latest track from the NHC has it directly over Cape Cod on Friday as a Tropical Storm. That would bring heavy rain and strong winds to the area. Stay tuned for updates over the next couple days.

Elsa Update

 Tropical Storm Elsa now has winds of 60 MPH as it comes off the coast of Cuba. It will track north and make landfall in Florida tomorrow. Then it will come NE and up the coast and may make a direct hit on SNE on Friday. At this point heavy rain and strong winds seem likely. Stay tuned for updates over the coming days.

Tropical Storm Elsa

 TS Elsa now has winds of 65 MPH as it heads towards Cuba by Monday. Then, it will track up the Florida coast on Tuesday. After that it appears to head up the East Coast making a very close pass to New England on Friday.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high of 77. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.

Thursday ;All eyes turn to Elsa approaching from the south. Highs in the 80's.

Happy 4th!

 Happy 4th of July everyone and thanks for checking out my blog. After a record cold day today the 4th will again be chilly along with some wet weather. The sun will finally return on Monday and temps by Tuesday will be nearing 90 again.

Tonight: Rain. Near steady temps around 55. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

4th of July; Happy 4th of July everyone! Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. High 65. NE wind of 10-20 MPH.

Elsa Update; The Tropical Storm now has winds of 70 MPH and will track towards Florida by Monday.  It will be wet and windy at the rescue sight, but it won't be a huge impact. After Florida it will turn up the East Coast and may make a very close pass to New England by late in the week. Stay tuned!

Hurricane Elsa

 Hurricane Elsa now has winds of 80 MPH as it heads through the Caribbean . The latest track does send it towards South Florida as a Category 1 Hurricane by Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully, it will track away from the rescues. However, some impact seems likely at this time, And, after that at track up the  East Coast towards New England is possible by late next week. Stay tuned for more updates throughout the long holiday weekend.

 A cool and wet Holiday weekend is in store as a front stalled near the area produces periods of rain. The heaviest rain will fall overnight tonight into Friday. Then, more chilly rain is likely on Saturday and some clearing is possible by the 4th.
