Ice Storm Update

 Freezing rain has started this afternoon and will continue overnight. It should change to rain by morning, however just a few degrees will make a difference between pouring rain and heavy freezing rain. But, all guidance suggests that it will be plain by rain in Boston before dawn.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Boston area until 7 AM Tuesday. 

Tonight :Freezing drizzle and flurries early, then freezing rain and rain late . Temps rising to 35 by dawn. East wind of 10-20 MPH.  Total ice amounts from 0.1-0.2 inches. 

Tuesday; Periods of rain. High 37. East wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Tuesday night: Clearing with lows in the low 20's. Watch for a flash freeze. 

Wednesday; Sunny with highs around 30.

Thursday; Snow likely. Highs in the upper 20's. Stay tuned! 

Friday: The snow tapers off. Highs in the low 30's. Significant snow totals possible! 

US Weather: My Aunt Jane in Austin, Texas says around 6 inches of snow fell  Sunday night. And, temps fell to as low as 9 ABOVE and wind chills were BELOW 0!. Finally, she went sledding for the first time in decades!
