Nor'easter Forecast

 A powerful nor'easter will hi the area Saturday into Saturday night. It will start as rain everywhere, but as colder air comes into the area it will change to snow from west to east. The snow will fall heavily in the afternoon and evening and along with strong winds will make it like a blizzard at times. And now seems like Boston will see a few inches with more NW of the city.

A High Wind Warning is in effect for the coast 

Storm timeline: for  Boston area 

Tonight: Rain overspreads the area. Low 43. 

Saturday morning. Rain >Temps fall to 38. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. 

Saturday afternoon; Rain changes to snow around 3 PM in the city, but earlier  the NW and later to the south . Temps fall to3 5. NW wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH. 

Saturday night: Heavy snow in the evening, then snow showers late. Lows around 30. NW wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH. 

Snow totals; 

1-3 inches: South of Boston 

3-5 inches; In Boston around 4 inches in JP 

5-10; inches  NW of Boston 

10-14+ Higher   elevations. Some parts of Northern New England may get near 2 FEET+ 


Peak wind Gusts; 

60 MPH: Most of the coast-excluding Boston 

55 MPH : In Boston 

45 MPH: Inland 

Rest of extended forecast; 

Sunday; Partly sunny and windy. Highs in the upper 30's. 

Monday; Sunny with highs in the upper 30's. 

Tuesday; A storm possible. Highs in the 30's. Stay tuned!
