Rain will continue overnight as an area of low pressure comes through. By Thursday skies will clear and temps will hold in the 50's along with a gusty wind. Friday will be windy and chilly with a passing flurry. It should be chilly and dry for the weekend.

Heavy Rains

A strong storm will hit the area on Tuesday with heavy rains and gusty winds. The heaviest rain will fall in the afternoon and evening. After a break on Tuesday night before more rain is likely on Wednesday. Clearing will come into the area for the end of the week.

Tonight: Increasing clouds temps around 34 this evening will rise to 38 by dawn.

Tuesday: Scattered showers in the morning, then heavy rain in the afternoon. High 50. SE wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. Total rainfall around an inch.

Tuesday night: Heavy rain in the evening, then mostly cloudy late. Lows in the mid 40's. SE wind of 15-25 MPH.

This Winter looks to feature some cold but above average snow. The snow seems to be spread out for the entire winter. And signals point to more snow in Northern New England than the last few years. But my snow totals will be for the immediate Boston area.

An area of low pressure will continue to effect the area over the next few days. Black Friday will feature showers and mist and temps in the upper 40's. Saturday will be wet as well before drying for Sunday.

Snow Forecast

Wednesday will be a nice day for travel in New England as it will be sunny with light winds. Then a weak system will effect the area on Thanksgiving Day. It will start out as light snow and freezing drizzle before changing to scattered rain showers in the afternoon. A coating of snow is possible in the Boston area.

Forecast Update

Tuesday will be another cold and windy today, although it won't be quiet as cold as Monday. Wednesday will be a dry day before a weak storm arrives on Thanksgiving day. At this point some light snow and freezing drizzle is possible before a change to rain showers in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high of 43. West wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

Wednesday night: Increasing clouds in the evening, then scattered snow showers late. Lows in the low 30's.

Tropics: TS Otto has formed with winds of 60 MPH and is expected to make landfall near Costa Rica as a Cat 1 Hurricane.

Falling Temps

A strong cold front will bring rain showers and strong winds. As colder air comes into the area rain showers will change to snow in Northern and Western New England and will accumulate several inches there. In the Boston area it may end as some flurries. Either way it will remain cold for days.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Cape and Islands for Sunday through Monday.
