A major storm will hit the area on Wednesday into Thursday. Rain will arrive in the afternoon and continue into Thursday morning. The winds will pick up by evening and last into Thursday as well. And, some minor coastal flooding is likely also.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Boston area from 7 PM Wednesday until 10 AM Thursday.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for the coast- including Boston.
Boston forecast:
Tonight: Increasing clouds with steady temps around 40.
Wednesday: Increasing clouds until 2 PM, then showers. High 58. SE wind increasing to 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH late.
Wednesday night: Heavy rain. Windy with temps rising to the mid 60's by morning. SE wind increasing of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Total rainfall of 1-2 inches .
Thursday: Showers end early, then partial clearing. Highs in the low 70's. South wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.
Friday: Mostly sunny and cooler. Highs in the mid 50's.

Sunday: A shower possible. Highs in the 60's.
