Snow Update

The snow will continue to fall steadily here in Boston for the next few hours amounting to several inches. But, south of town will continue to see the heaviest snow and the most snow will accumulate there. And, blizzard conditions are possible as winds gust past 50 MPH during the overnight. On Sunday skies will clear, but will be cold and windy.

Alerts:

A Blizzard Warning is in effect for the North and South shores as well as the Cape and islands.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the rest of the Boston area until 5 AM Sunday

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for parts of the coast for minor coastal flooding

A Hurricane Force Wind Warning remains in effect for parts of the ocean.

Rest of Storm Forecast:

Thru 2 AM: Snow ends in Boston. Temp 30. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH.

5 AM: Snow ends on Cape and Islands.

Final Snow Totals:

9-15 Inches: South Shore and parts of Cape Cod. Some isolated areas may get more than 15 inches.

6-9  Inches: In Boston area. About 7 inches in JP.

3-6 inches; Further NW of Boston

Peak Wind Guts:
60 MPH-Cape and Islands

50 MPH- Rest of  Coast and Boston

40 MPH- Further Inland

Boston forecast:

Sunday: Becoming mostly sunny and windy. High 30. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

Sunday night: Clear and windy. Very cold with lows around 10. West wind of  10-20 MPH with gust to 30 MPH.

Monday: Sunny and cold. Highs in the mid 20's.

Tuesday; Some snow likely. Highs in the low 30's. Stay tuned!

Wednesday: Mainly cloudy with highs in the 40's.
