Heavy rain here in Plymouth, NH combined with snowmelt created a big jam in the local river. A flood emergency was issued and students had to move their cars. Also, roads were closed and some people may have to be evacuated. The heavy snow stayed north of PSU, where over 2 FEET fell in some places. In the Boston area, some rivers are above flood stage-but major flooding should be avoided for the next few days. The next rainstorm will arrive late Thursday, and flooding again could be an issue.

i was hoping to find some snow to go xc skiing this weekend. but it looks as tho most of the new snow is far north and may be melting with rain friday. where do you think there might be good xc ski on sunday?
ReplyDeletePretty far NW of the Boston area to find enough snow. After the rain on Friday, you may have to head to VT or northern NH to find good snow.
