I have been very busy here in Washington DC. We have been going to museums every day, and I have not had a lot of time to blog. We have had a great time so far, along with great weather. However, today it is raining and cool. A cold front will push the storm in the Mid-Atlanitc out to sea, but may produce showers Tonight and Thursday in Boston, but it won't be as widespread as it is here in DC. The weekend looks seasonable with temps around 60, before rain early next week.
Boston, MA forecast:
Wednesday: Sunny early, then increasing clouds. Warm with highs around 70. SW wind of 10-20 MPH.
Wednesday night: Cloudy with scattered showers possible after midnight. Lows in the 50's.
Thursday: Partly sunny until 2 PM, then cloudy with showers and scattered thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 60's. I don't expect severe thunderstorms.
Thursday night: Isolated thunderstorms until 8 PM, then turning mostly cloudy. Lows in the 40's.
Friday: Partly cloudy with highs around 60.
Saturday: Sunny with highs in the low 60's.
Sunday: Increasing clouds with rain arriving from west to east in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50's.
Another earthquake: A 5.2 magnitude quake hit Western Australlia a couple of days ago, causing some damage. No injuries or deaths were reported.
Volcano: The Iceland volcano continues to spew ash, but the airlines are flying again. But nearly 100,000 flights have been cancelled since Thursday in Europe. Once again, we have to worry if it will set off Katla, as that would cause damage to the atmosphere and cause global cooling. Most scientists say when the small one erupts, Katla follows. However, the question is when.
Thanks for covering the volcano, I've been hoping you would! Glad you are having a great trip in D.C. Any weather exhibits at the Smithsonian?
