Erin Impacts

 Erin is forecast to come up the coast and pass around 200 to 300 miles SE of Nantucket late Thursday or early Friday. That is close enough to bring some wind and high surf to the region. The highest gusts will be on the Cape and Islands, but even strong winds are likely in Boston. Stay tuned for exact details tomorrow!

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the Cape and Islands thru Friday. 

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Increasing clouds with a low of 55. NE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Wednesday: Scattered showers in the morning, then showers in the afternoon. Much cooler with a high of 65. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Wednesday night: Showers ending. Lows in the mid 50's .

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with an increasing wind as Erin comes up the coast. Highs in the low 70's.

Tracking Erin

 Cooler temps will come into the area thru Wednesday as we watch Hurricane Erin come up the coast. At this point it looks to stay far enough east of SNE to just bring some showers and a gusty wind. However, just a small change in the track could change the forecast. And Erin will make its closest pass to the region on Thursday. Stay tuned for more track updates!

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with a passing shower. Breezy with a low of 62. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Monday: A mix of sun and clouds and much cooler. High 72. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Monday night: Clearing and cool. Lows around 50. 

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the mid 70's. 

Wednesday: Increasing clouds and wind as Erin comes closer.

Hurricane Erin

Hurricane Erin now has winds of 150 MPH, making a strong Category 4 Hurricane this evening. It is now located near Puerto Rico as it continues to head west. Thel latest track sends it relatively close to the East Coast making a close pass to New England by Thursday as a Major Hurricane. Stay tuned for more track updates as we get closer!

Tonight: Clear with a low of 68. 

Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny with a passing afternoon t-storm. Humid with a high of 92. SW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Sunday night: Clearing with lows in the low 60's. 

Monday: Sunny and less humid. Highs in the low 70's .

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the mid 70's.

Wednesday: Increasing clouds and wind as Erin approaches from the south. 

Thursday: Hurricane Erin makes its closest pass- at this stage just a graze. Highs in the 70's. Stay tuned!

Weekend Forecast

The heat and humidity will finally break on Friday. As temperatures will hold in the upper 70's along with low humidity. Saturday looks nice before the heat returns on Sunday. 

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Any showers or storms fade to clearing skies. Low 65. 

Friday: Mostly sunny and less humid. High 78. NW wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Friday night: Clear with lows in the low 60's. 

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the low 80's .

Sunday: Showers possible late. More humid with highs in the low 90's .

Monday: Sunny with highs in the 70's. 

TS Erin: Erin now has winds of 70 MPH as it approaches the Caribbean.  It will then track north and NE and close to the US East Coast by mid week. Stay tuned!

More Heat

Wednesday will be another hot day with a passing late day t-storm. Storms are more likely on Thursday as a front approaches. It will dry out for the end of the week.

Tonight: Clear with a low of 70. 

Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny with a passing late day t-storm. More humid with a high of 93. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Wednesday night: Clearing with lows in the low 70's. 

Thursday: Showers and storms likely. Very humid with highs in the upper 80's. 

Friday: Sunny with highs in the low 80's. 

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the mid 80's .

Sunday: Sunny with highs around 90. 

TS Erin: TS Erin has formed with winds of 45 MPH. It is expected to strengthen and make a close pass to the Carribbean this weekend. Stay tuned!

The Week Ahead

 The heat will continue to build over the next several days. As temps will soar well into the 90's along with some humidity. The hottest days appear to be Tuesday and Wednesday, before a cold front arrives by Thursday with a low chance of storms.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low of 68. 

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high of 93. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Monday night: Clear with lows in the low 70's. 

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the mid 90's. 

Wednesday: Sunny with highs in the upper 90's. 

Thursday: PM storms possible. Highs around 90.

Friday: Cooler and drier. Highs in the low 80's. 

Tropics: A cluster of storms off the coast of Africa is expected to be named Erin over the next 24 hours. It will track NW and may threaten the East Coast in about 10 days or so. Stay tuned for track updates!

 Another sunny weekend is in store with temps in the 80's. A heatwave is expected next week with temps well into the 90's for several days. And the dry weather will roll on also.

Increasing Temps

 Friday will be a sunny day with temps near 80.  Temps will increase over the weekend with temps nearing 90 by Sunday. A prolonged heatwave is likely next week, with several days over 90! And temps could approach 100 degrees by the middle of the week.

 Clouds will dominate the sky on Wednesday along with cooler temps. Thursday will also be held in the 70's before heat comes back into the area.

 The next few days will be cooler with some clouds as an onshore flow takes hold. As temps will be kept mainly in the 70's. And no rain is expected over the next several days as well.

The Week Ahead

 Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to dominate the sky on Monday. It will also be a warmer day with temps approaching 90. The dry weather should last thru the rest of the week with most days in the 80s. And for now, any tropical activity should remain to our south.

Monday: Mostly sunny with smoke. High 90. SE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Monday night: Clear with lows in the mid 60's. 

Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the low 80's. 

Wednesday: Sunny with highs in the mid 80's. 

Thursday: Sunny with highs around 80.

Friday: Sunny with highs in the 80's. 

Tropics: Tropical Storm Dexter is forecasted to form off the Carolina coast tonight or Monday, but will track NE and out to sea. Another storm may form in a similar location by the end of the week and that may threaten land. But it is too soon to determine where. Stay tuned!
