Overnight Snow

 An area of low pressure will bring snow overnight amounting to a few inches. Then after a chilly Thursday temps warm up enough for rain by Friday. 

Boston forecast:

Tonight: Snow. Low 20. Total snow amounts of 1-3 inches. South wind of 10-20 MPH.

Wednesday: Scattered showers of rain and snow. Windy with a high of 40. West wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

Wednesday night: Clearing and colder. Lows around 15. NW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Thursday: Sunny and windy. Highs in the upper 20's.

Still Cold

Wednesday will be another frigid day along with more sunshine. Then Thursday will  start out very cold, but turn somewhat milder by the end of the day. It will remain cold and dry for the next several days.

US Weather: Historic snowfall is occurring along the Gulf coast. Several inches of snow has been reported all over the southern states. And, over a foot of snow has now fallen in New Orleans. As Winter Storm Warnings have been issued as far south as central Florida.

 Rain has changed to snow here in the Boston area this evening and will continue to fall heavily overnight. Several inches will accumulate before its over. Then arctic air will come into New England behind the storm.

 A significant Winter storm is ahead as a storm comes up the coast. Snow will arrive by dark and last all night long. It will amount to several inches.  And, the wind will  become gusty allowing for blowing snow. Finally, arctic air will come into New England behind the storm.

Winter Storm Ahead

Temps will warm enough on Saturday for all rain to fall by evening. Then a arctic front will cross the region on Sunday, followed by an area of low pressure bringing snow Sunday night. Snow will arrive around sunset and continue heavy at times overnight. It will amount to several inches.

 It now appears that snow will come into the area on Thursday leading to a small accumulation. Snow will be blown around in the strong wind leading to low visibility at times. Then after a break on Friday more snow is likely on Saturday, as the storm passes by to our south.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for Boston and points NW until 1 AM Friday.
