Happy New Year!

 Happy 2024 everyone and thanks for checking out my blog. I wish everyone a happy and healthy year! I plan to write as often as I can through 2024 and beyond. 2024 will start out with mostly cloudy skies and a flurry. The sun will return for  midweek before possible snow by Thursday.

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with a low of 30. 

New Year's Day: Partly to mostly cloudy with a passing flurry. High 38.. NW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Monday night: Clearing with lows int he low 20's. 

Tuesday; Sunny with highs in the low 40's. 

Wednesday; Increasing clouds with highs in the upper 30's. 

Thursday; Snow possible. Highs in the mid 30's. Stay tuned!

First Night Timeline

 Skies will finally clear for New Year's eve and New Year's Day along with near normal temps. For First Night temps will near freezing  with some clouds. It will remain dry through the middle of the week with our next storm chance waiting until Thursday.

Rainy Days

Friday will feature scattered showers and cold temps. Temps will cool even more by Saturday leading to a chance of a few flakes to mix in.

Tonight: Areas of rain, mist, drizzle and fog. Near steady temps around 40. NE wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. 

Friday: Scattered showers, mist and drizzle. Near steady temps around 42. NE wind of 10-20 MPH with gusts to 30 MPH. 

Friday night: Scattered showers continue.  Lows around 40. 

Saturday; Scattered rain and snow showers early, then partial clearing. Highs in the mid 40's.

More Rain

Rain will fall heavily over the next 36 hours or so before tapering off to showers. The height of the rain will be in the morning and temps will be held in the 40's. Showers will linger into Friday as well and clearing could be slow over the weekend.

Tonight: Periods of rain. Near steady temps around 43. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Thursday: Rain in the morning, then showers in the afternoon. High 48. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Thursday night: Showers. Lows in the low 40's, North wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Friday: Scattered showers. Temps hold in the mid 40's. 

Saturday; Some clearing in the afternoon possible. Highs around 40.

Holiday Weekend Forecast

 Saturday will feature an increase in clouds and temps near average. Then a weak front will bring scattered mixed showers late Saturday night into Sunday morning. It should dry out for Santa and the sun will return on Christmas Day.

Tonight: Clear and cold again. Low 23. 

Saturday: Increasing clouds with a high of 45. SW wind of 10-15 MPH. 

Saturday night: Low clouds and fog with scattered showers of rain and snow. Lows in the low 30's. Some localized slick spots are possible late. 

Sunday: Scattered flurries and sprinkles early, then scattered sprinkles in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 40's.

Christmas Eve; Mostly cloudy, but dry. Lows in the mid 30's.

 Tonight will bottom out in the teens as High Pressure comes in from Canada. Then, temps will warm over the weekend with a passing rain shower by Sunday. Christmas Day looks dry before we eye another storm by mid week.

 The next few days will be sunny but cold as high pressure moves closer to the area. Then, clouds will increase over the weekend with a passing sprinkle or flurry.  And at this point Christmas looks mild and dry.

 The storm hit hard this morning with high winds and heavy rains causing damage throughout the area. Now, calm weather will take over and it will remain dry for days and days. That will allow for good travel through the holidays along the east coast.

 A powerful storm will impact the area on Monday. A strengthening storm will travel up the  east coast and bring us powerful winds and heavy rain. The height of the storm seems to be from sunrise to early afternoon. And coastal flooding is also a possibility.

A Flood Watch is in effect West of Boston

Another Storm Ahead

 Saturday will  be another nice day with sunny skies and above average temps. Then clouds will increase on Sunday ahead of our next storm. The storm will likely bring flooding rains and damaging winds to the area Sunday night thru Monday. Gusts up to Hurricane force are not out of the question for parts of the area.  Friday will be a warmer day along with a gusty breeze. Saturday looks nice before we track a major storm on the East Coast. The storm will track up the coast and give us another round of heavy rain and strong winds Sunday night into Monday.

Snow Forecast

Bands of snow will come into Eastern MA off the ocean leading to a small accumulation. The snow will fall late tonight into Wednesday morning before ending. Then, skies will clear overnight and the cold air will stay. The next major storm will bring heavy rain and high winds by the end of the weekend.

Wednesday: Snow showers in the morning, then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. High 35. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. Total snow amounts of a Coating-1 inch in Boston. 

Wednesday night: Clearing and windy. Cold with lows in the low 20's. Wind chill values as low as 10 late. 

Thursday: Sunny with highs in the mid 30's.

Friday: Sunny with highs in the low 40's .

Saturday: Sunny with highs in the low 50's.

Ocean Effect Snow

 Clouds will increase on Tuesday ahead of our next  weather maker.  A wind off the ocean combined with a storm offshore will bring scattered snow showers to the coast Tuesday night into Wednesday. It could amount to a small accumulation in Boston. Then, after temps warm later this week a powerful storm could bring heavy rain and damaging winds by Sunday. 

Boston forecast; 

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a low of 37. West wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Tuesday: A mix of sun and clouds with a high of 40. Wind  turns to NE at 10-20 MPH. 

Tuesday night:  Cloudy in the evening, then snow showers late. Lows in the upper 20's. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Wednesday: Snow showers. Temps hold around freezing.. Snow may coat the ground in and around Boston. 

Wednesday night: Clearing and windy. Lows in the mid 20's.
