New Year's Forecast

 Friday will be a great day with sunny skies and warm temps. Then a system will bring rain to the region on New Year's Eve. It should dry out by the end of New Year's Day.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high of 58. SW wind of 10-20 MPH .

Friday night: Increasing clouds with lows in the low 40's.

Saturday: Cloudy until 4 PM, then showers. Highs in the mid 50's.

Forecast Update

 A weak low will pass through Northern New England bringing clouds to the area on Wednesday along with temps near 40. Temps will continue to warm through the end of the week before rain and wind for New Year's.

A Warming Trend

 Temps will gradually warm over the next few days as high pressure moves to our south. It will remain dry through the end of the week before a rainstorm for New Year's Weekend.

Recap Of Storm

 A major storm hit the region on Friday with high winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding. Winds caused damage all over the area and record coastal flooding in some areas. Now, temps will continue to fall and the wind will remain gusty for the Holiday weekend.

 The storm has started this evening and will continue to impact the area over the next day or so. It will bring heavy rain and damaging winds. The height of the storm will be in the morning, and temps will dramatically drop in the afternoon and evening. Strong winds will continue through the night.

Tonight: Heavy rain. Windy with temps rising to 55.SE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH. 

Friday; Heavy  rain with thunderstorms. Temps near 57 will crash to 25 by 6 PM. SE wind of 30-40 MPH with gusts to 60 MPH, changing to SW. Total rainfall of 2-3 inches. 

Friday night: Scattered snow showers in the evening, then clearing. Lows around 12. NW wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH.

 A powerful storm will bring heavy rain, high winds and a flash freeze to the area on Friday. The storm will be the worst in the morning, before tapering off in the afternoon, But in the evening temps will drop like crazy in just a few hours.

Computer Crash

 Unfortunately, my computer crashed late last week and I have not been able to update my blog. Now, I plan on blogging as much as I can going forward. The next few days will be chilly and dry before a big storm at the end of the week. It will bring downpours, high winds and coastal flooding to the region on Friday. It will turn sharply colder behind the storm.

Storm Forecast

 A powerful long duration storm will impact the area Thursday night through Saturday morning, It will bring heavy rain, snow and strong winds to the region. It will start as rain in Boston on Thursday night and it will pour through the day on Friday and into Friday evening, But as colder air comes in behind the storm rain could change to snow even in Boston before ending. A small accumulation is possible. Plus, the wind could gust to 50 MPH at times on  Friday. 

Boston forecast :

Tonight: Clear and not as chilly. Low 28. 

Thursday; Any sun fades to cloudy skies. High 42. NE wind of 15-25 MPH. 

Thursday night; Cloudy in the evening, then rain late. Near steady temps around 40. NE wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Friday; Heavy rain. Highs in the low 40's. NE wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. 

Friday night; Heavy rain in the evening, then a mix of rain and snow late. Lows in the low 30's. Wind changing to North at 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Total rainfall of 2-3 inches .

Saturday; Snow possible early, then clearing. Highs in the upper 30's  Snow may amount to  a coating to an inch in the Boston area.

 Wednesday will be a very cold and windy day along with some sun. Clouds will gather on Thursday ahead of our next storm. The storm appears to bring heavy rain and strong winds to the area on Friday, As the snow will be confined to western and northern New England.

 Snow arrived this afternoon and evening and came down at a good clip for a while, Now, snow will taper off after amounting to an inch or 2 in Boston. The workweek looks cold and dry before we track a major storm by the end of the week.

 A snowy weekend is ahead as a couple weak weather systems impact the area. On Saturday some ocean effect snow showers are likely that may coat the ground. Then, a system will come in from the west Sunday night and bring us more snow.
