Weekend Update

 Sunday will be another day with some sun and low humidity. Then another long heatwave is in store for the area. As temps will rise into the 90's for the entire work week! And one day could be closer to 100. 

Boston forecast. 

Tonight: Clear with a low of 65.

Sunday; Mostly sunny in the morning, then increasing clouds in the afternoon. High 88. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Sunday night; Mostly cloudy with lows around 70. 

Monday; Sunny and more humid with highs in the low 90's. 

Tuesday; Sunny with highs in the mid 90's. 

Wednesday; Showers possible. Highs in the 90's. 

Thursday; Sunny and humid. Highs around 100! 

Friday Forecast

Friday will be dry for the daylight hours, before showers arrive after dark. Most of the showers should be after 10 PM. Then, skies clear for the upcoming weekend along with comfy temps.

Scattered Showers

 A cold front will bring scattered showers and storms on Thursday. But, it appears that most of Friday will be dry, along with high humidity.  Friday looks mainly dry.

Comfy Wednesday

 Wednesday will be another comfortable Summer day with sunny skies and low humidity. Temps and humidity will rise by Thursday and a shower or storm is possible. Friday will also bring a threat for a shower, but most of the time will be dry.

Thursday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Muggy with highs in the upper 80's. 

Friday; A shower possible, but most of the time will be dry. Highs in the upper 80's. 

Saturday; Sunny with highs in the mid 80's.

US Weather; Nearly a foot of rain fell in just a few hours in the St. Louis metro area today. That lead to many water rescues and people trapped. Meanwhile, here in Boston we have had the driest July on record so far, with only. 0.58 inches of rain falling all month long. And that puts the Boston area under severe drought! 

Severe Storms

 A strong cold front will finally bring an end to the heatwave with scattered severe thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening on Monday. Behind the front it will clear out and the humidity will drop. Some showers are possible late in the week.

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the South Coast for Monday into Tuesday

Monday; Partly sunny with showers and severe thunderstorms. Very humid with a high of 90. SW wind of 15-25 MPH. Some storms may bring damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. 

Monday night: Scattered severe storms until 8 PM, then clearing. Lows in the upper 60's. SW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH, changing to west late.  Some storms will bring damaging winds, hail and tornadoes early.

Tropics;  The tropics continue to stay quiet for now. However, I expect the tropics to come to life over the next few weeks. 

Sizzling Sunday

Temps will soar close to 100 on Sunday along with high humidity making it feel like over 100 degrees! Then a strong cold front will cross into the area on Monday leading to scattered severe storms .Drier air will come into New England behind the front.

Sunday; Sunny and humid. Breezy with a high of 100.  SW wind of 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.  Heat index values up to 105 in the afternoon.

Monday; Increasing clouds in the morning, then scattered severe thunder storms in the afternoon. Very muggy with highs in the low 90's.

Weekend Forecast

The heat will continue through the weekend with the heat peaking on Sunday when temps could reach 100 degrees! The heat index could be well above 100. Friday and Saturday will be hot as well with temps in the mid to upper 90's.

Heat Advisory

 The heat and humidity continue to build over the next couple of days. On Wednesday temps should reach the mid 90's along with high humidity. By Thursday a front will approach the area bringing showers and severe storms. But, heat index values will be over 100 before it arrives. And air temps this weekend could touch 100 in some spots!

World Weather: London, England topped 40 Celsius-about 104 Fahrenheit -for the first time on Tuesday. That caused part of the runway at the airport to melt. And temps all over Western Europe smashed all time records also. 

Day After Day

 Our first heatwave is in store for the next several days as a Bermuda High takes control. Most days will be in the mid 90's and it will feel like over 100 at times. Most days will be dry, but storms are possible on Thursday.

The Week Ahead

 A frontal system will bring showers and storms to the area on Monday. Some severe storms are possible, and tornadoes can't be ruled out. Storms will also bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall. After the storms an extended heatwave is likely.
