Snow Update

 A storm will impact the area on Friday. Snow will start around 2 AM and will it snow hard all morning. Snow may fall at 1-2 inches per hour. It will amount to several inches. Then, a warm air comes in aloft snow will change to sleet for a period of time around midday. It will change back to snow before ending in the evening.

Snowstorm Forecast

 A snowstorm will hit the area on Friday.  However, it still unclear on how far north the sleet will make it. At this point I do expect that Boston will mix with some sleet for a short period of time cutting back a little on snow totals. However, a thump of snow is still expected before any mixing. So, a major Winter Storm is still expected.

60's To Snow!

 Wednesday will be another amazing warm day for Winter with temps soaring well into the 60's along with sunny skies. Then a sharp cold front will cross the area Wednesday night leading to a colder Thursday. That will set the stage for the next storm on Friday. The storm will bring a mix of snow and sleet to the area. The final totals will be decided on how much sleet mixes in.

Mild Days

 Tuesday will be another mild day as a warm front crosses the area. However, it will feature cloudy skies and rain will arrive late in the day. The rain will continue through the night and will also bring gusty winds. Then Wednesday could reach 70 degrees before it turns colder again. That will set us up for snow on Friday.

Another Wild Week

Another wild week of weather is in store. On Monday temps will rise into the low to mid 50's along with sunny skies. By Wednesday temps could reach record levels before possible snow by the end of the week.

 A vigorous clipper system will bring snow squalls to the  area on Saturday afternoon. Visibility will drop to near 0 and they will amount to a quick inch in spots.  After that temps will warm once again early next week. Another wind and rain storm may impact the area as well.

 Wild winds will impact the area overnight tonight into Friday morning. As winds may gust up to 70 MPH in some areas. Rain will also fall heavily and will end by mid morning. Then temps will crash as colder air rushes into the area.

Friday; Rain until 9 AM, then clearing. Temps near 58 in the morning will crash to 35 by 5 PM. SW winds of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 65 MPH early, then changing to NW at 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH.

 A powerful storm will impact the area Thursday night into Friday morning. The wind will ramp up and become damaging along with rain. The height of the storm will be around 10 PM Thursday night to around 8 AM Friday morning. Then temps will crash behind the storm.

Ice Update

 A ice storm will impact Southern New England on Friday. Rain has arrived today and will continue overnight. Then, temps will crash by the morning commute and any standing water will freeze solid. And rain will rapidly change to freezing rain in the Boston area by 8 AM. And it now appears that freezing rain will last most of the day and will change to sleet before ending. Snow is no longer expected. Freezing rain amounts look to be around a .25 of an inch. That is not quite enough to cause power outages, However, it will make driving very difficult. I highly suggest staying home all day on Friday.

Ice Storm Possible

 A powerful front will bring a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow to the area Thursday afternoon through Friday. Unfortunately, it now appears that most of the precip will now fall as freezing rain and sleet. As temps at the surface will be below freezing, but not above. So, an ice storm now appears likely on Friday. It will start early and end by early evening.

Tonight: Areas of low clouds and dense fog. Near steady temps around 35. South wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Thursday; Scattered rain showers in the morning, then rain the afternoon. High 45. SW wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Thursday night: Rain until 6 AM, then freezing rain and sleet. Temps near 43 early will crash to 30 by dawn. North wind of 10-20 MPH.
