The Week Ahead

 Wild temp swings are going to occur over the next few days. A cold front will cross the area on Monday evening leading to scattered snow squalls and damaging winds. On Tuesday it will be very cold and windy and wind chills could be well BELOW 0. Temps will rise back above normal by mid week.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of MA from 4 PM Monday until 10 AM Tuesday. 

Boston forecast: 

Tonight: Rain. Near steady temps around 37. SE wind of 10-20 MPH. 

Monday: Rain showers until 10 AM, then partly sunny. High 48. Wind changing to NW at 15-25 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH. 

Monday night; Scattered snow squalls in the evening, then clearing. Very windy and cold with lows around 12. NW wind of 25-35 MPH with gusts to 55 MPH.  Snow may coat the ground in any squall. Wind chill values as low as 10 BELOW late.

Up And Down

Temps on Sunday will once again rise well into the 40's. And more rain is expected after dark into Monday morning. Then an arctic front will bring scattered snow showers and squalls Monday evening. Behind the front it will be windy and cold.

A Wet Weekend

 It will be a unsettled weekend with snow arriving in the morning and only lasting a few  hours before a change to rain. On Sunday rain should hold off until after dark.

 It will be windy and colder on Thursday, Friday will also be below normal before a wet weekend.

 It will finally feel like Spring on Wednesday with some sun and temps near 50. A cold front will bring a shower late in the Day. And temps will fall below normal for Thursday and Friday.

US Weather; Many all time records were set in the south Tuesday morning. For example, Oklahoma City was 14 BELOW 0 this morning. 

Ice Storm Update

 Freezing rain has started this afternoon and will continue overnight. It should change to rain by morning, however just a few degrees will make a difference between pouring rain and heavy freezing rain. But, all guidance suggests that it will be plain by rain in Boston before dawn.

US Weather: My Aunt Jane in Austin, Texas says around 6 inches of snow fell  Sunday night. And, temps fell to as low as 9 ABOVE and wind chills were BELOW 0!. Finally, she went sledding for the first time in decades! 

An Icy Mix

 A storm will bring a wintry mix too the area overnight and into Sunday morning. More scattered snow is possible on Monday before a potential ice storm on Tuesday.

 Another weather system will track just to our south brining snow to the area on Tuesday. It will amount a few inches before ending. Wednesday and Thursday look dry before we watch another storm by Friday.
