Storm Update

 A storm will bring rain and strong winds tonight into Wednesday morning. It will dry out by afternoon. 

Alert; 

A Wind Advisory is in effect until 1 PM Wednesday for all of the Boston area.

Tonight: Rain and windy. Near steady temps around 68. Wind increasing to 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. 

Wednesday;  Showers with scattered thunderstorms in the morning, then mostly sunny in the afternoon. High 72. South wind of 20-30 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH in the morning, decreasing  to 15-25 MPH in the afternoon.

 Tuesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds and a passing shower. Then a storm will bring rain and wind to the area Tuesday night into Wednesday. It now looks like it will dry out for Thursday.

The Week Ahead

 A shower or 2 is possible on Monday and Tuesday as a front slowly moves towards the area. Then a powerful storm will bring much need heavy rain Wednesday into Thursday.. Strong winds also appear likely.

Warmer Days

 Hurricane Teddy will race north away from the area and towards Nova Scotia tonight. Some wind is still possible overnight but the height of the wind is over. Now, clear skies and warmer temps will come into the area.

Teddy Forecast

 Hurricane Teddy now has winds of  100 MPH and will pass around 350 miles east of the area on Tuesday. That will bring some clouds a gusty wind and big surf to the area.

Trending Closer

The track of Hurricane Teddy tracked closer to the area today as the storm comes up the coast. Winds may be quite gusty on Tuesday as Teddy makes its closest pass. Waves could also reach 25 FEET leading to coastal flooding.

Teddy Offshore

It now appears that Hurricane Teddy will pass several 100 miles offshore of New England and head for Atlantic Canada.  Although some gusty winds are possible most weather will stay offshore.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for the suburbs. 

A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the coast.

Hurricane Teddy

 Hurricane Teddy is now a major Category 4 Hurricane with winds of 140 MPH. The latest track sends it towards Bermuda and then north towards Atlantic Canada early next week. On that track most of the storm would remain offshore.  However, just a small shift west could bring bigger impacts.

Friday: Scattered showers in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. High 58. NE wind of 15-25 MPH.

One More

 Thursday will be the last warm day for a while as a cold front approaches. The front will push the remains of Hurricane Sally out to sea on Friday. Behind the front cooler air will come into the area for the weekend. Then we will need to watch  the track of Hurricane Teddy early next week as some reliable models have it making a close pass to New England.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with smoke. High 80.  SW wind of 15-25 MPH.

Smoke From Fires

 Smoke from the western fires have come all the way across the country to New England and will give the sky a hazy look on Wednesday. And it now appears that the moisture from Sally will stay south of New England on Friday. However, it may be windy.

Dry Days

 Tuesday will be a much cooler day with sunny skies. Wednesday and Thursday will be warmer as High  Pressure slides offshore. And at this point the remains of Hurricane Sally appears to slide to our south.
