With the 2.9 inches of snow tonight at Logan, Boston has set the record for the snowiest season on record. As that brings to the season total to 108.6 inches. That breaks the old record of 107.6 inches set in the 1995-96 season. Now, skies will clear for Monday and temps will rise into the mid 40's. Mainly Rain
Friday will be another chilly day with some sun and temps nearing 40. Then a storm will come into the Northeast for the weekend. It may start out as a brief period of freezing rain, but it will change to heavy rain on Saturday. Then some snow is likely on Sunday as colder air comes back into the area.

Colder Again

SPECIAL: New England February Review
Boston had the snowiest month on record in February with nearly 65 inches of snow. And, they also had the second coldest month on record. Worcester was also very cold and snowy setting records there. Providence, RI and Hartford, CT set records as well. In Northern New England most of ME, NH and VT were very cold as well. Although, it was not as snowy in some areas.

After nearly a foot of snow fell on the Cape today skies will clear out tonight and temps will fall. On Friday it will be sunny, but temps will only rise into the low to mid 20's. Some clouds are likely in the afternoon on Saturday as temps rise into the 30's. Temps will remain in the 30's on Sunday.

An area of low pressure will pass south of the area late tonight and Thursday leading to some snow. However, the heaviest snow looks to stay south of the Boston area. Then Friday will be sunny and cold before we modify for the weekend.
