Snow Update
The light snow has started to fall in most areas this afternoon. Snow will come down steadily for the evening commute. Snow will start to mix with rain and sleet tonight. A mix of rain and snow will continue thru the day on Thursday. However, I am now expecting 3-6 inches thru late Thursday in Boston with 6-10 inches NW of 128.

Storm Timeline
A storm will come in from the west in pieces. While it appears that Boston will not get a lot of snow, it will still be a good storm. Determining the rain/snow line is very difficult with this storm as the warm east winds collide with cold air aloft. So, just a slight shift in conditions will make a big difference in snow totals.

Complex Forecast
Tuesday will be another above average day with a breeze. Then, a storm will come in from the west on Wednesday with snow arriving by the evening commute. The precip will continue overnight and possibly into Thursday. At this point it seems most of the snow will fall in Northern New England with light precip in the Boston area. A wild day of weather today with snow in some spots in the morning, and thunderstorms in other spots this evening. A Mix

Even Colder

Warm week

Well, the storm was another disappointment as it darted south of the area and little snow fell. Now, cold air will come in from the NW an temps will fall to into the teens tonight and 20's on Sunday. Once again, the cold air will be short lived as temps will quickly rise above normal again.

It now appears that the heaviest snow will fall south of the city. Also temps will be marginal, so it will take some time for it to stick to sidewalks. As cold air comes down from the north it will start to add up on the city streets. Arctic air will come down for Sunday.

Stormy Weekend
Friday will be another warm day with sunny skies and temps 50. Then, an Arctic front and a storm from the west will combine to give us snow on Saturday. However, the strongest part of the storm will stay just offshore at this point. So, based on the current track the most snow will fall south of the city. Stay tune for a timeline on Friday.

Friday: Sunny with high of 50. SW wind of 10-20 MPH.
Friday night: Increasing clouds with lows around 30.
Saturday: Periods of snow. Near steady temps in the low 30's. NE wind of 15-20 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH, shifting to NW late. Total snow amounts of 3-5 inches expected. Stay tuned for more updates!

Snow Saturday?
A weak system will slide of the area tonight leading to a period of snow on the Cape. A flurry or 2 is possible closer to the city, but most of the precip will miss the area. Thursday and Friday will once again be above normal with highs well into the 40's. A strong arctic front will cross the area on Saturday with snow squalls. Also, a coastal storm will form-but at this point it is a miss.

Tonight: Cloudy with a snow flurry possible. Low 28.
Thursday: Increasing sunshine and warmer. High 45. SW wind of 10-15 MPH.
Thursday night: Clear with lows in the 20's.
Friday: Sunny and warm. Highs around 50.
Saturday: Cloudy with snow showers and squalls likely. Temps falling thru the 30's. Stay tuned- also watching a coastal storm.

Storm South
A weak system will pass well south of the area late Wednesday. While most of the precip will go south of the area a few flakes are possible-especially over SE MA. It will once again warm up on Thursday and Friday. Colder air will come in for the weekend and there is a chance of snow.

Too Far South
Tuesday will be another sunny day with temps once again above normal. On Wednesday a weak system will pass south of the area, with the best chance of light snow south of town. Temps will once again rebound for the end of the week.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high of 43. NW wind of 10-20 MPH.
Tuesday night: Partly to mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 20's.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a snow shower possible in the afternoon. At this point it seems that period of snow is possible south of Boston. Highs in the mid 30's. Stay tuned for any changes.

Week Ahead
Quiet weather will continue to dominate the weather this week. Temps will go up an down throughout the week with just a chance of a little light snow on Thursday.

Monday night: clear with lows in the low 30's.
Tuesday: mostly sunny and cooler. Highs in the low 40's.
Wednesday: increasing clouds with highs in the upper 30's. Light snow is possible at night.
Thursday: any snow ends early. Highs in the mid 30's.
Friday: Sunny with highs around 40.
Tropics: Amazingly we are watching a cluster of thunderstorms in the Gulf with a chance of development later this week. Hurricane season doesn't start until June, but storms are possible before then.

Storm Free
A few flurries are possible this evening as the NE wind goes over the warmer waters. But, clearing will quickly come in for Friday with temps near normal. Temps near normal will continue thru Super Bowl weekend with more flurries possible on Sunday. But there are no major snostorms in sight.

Temps soared to near 60 degrees in many areas today as the sun came out this afternoon. Now, colder air will come down from the north and will last thru the upcoming weekend. However, it seems that the cold will help keep storms away.
